Ghazi Sikander Mirza, also known by his initials GSM, is a versatile artist based in Lahore, Pakistan. A multitalented creative force, Ghazi's artistic pursuits span across painting, drawing, acting, and music.
Ghazi graduated from the prestigious National College of Arts in Lahore in 2016, majoring in painting. His passion for the arts and education led him to a position teaching at the Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design (PIFD) for a year after his graduation. Craving further academic and artistic growth, Ghazi then moved to the United States to pursue his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) at Parsons School of Design, The New School in New York City. This international experience enriched his perspectives and further refined his artistic sensibilities.
While Ghazi's paintings and drawings reveal his keen eye for detail and love for portraiture, his artistic expression is not confined to the canvas. He began exploring the world of acting during his college years, which led him to work with Ajoka Theatre Company, one of South Asia's leading and most influential theatre groups. This experience allowed Ghazi to delve into the art of storytelling from a new perspective, enhancing his understanding of human emotions and narratives, which is often reflected in his visual artworks.
In addition to his accomplishments in visual arts and theater, Ghazi is also a gifted flautist. He enjoys playing the flute in public spaces, where the spontaneity of the environment meets the serenity of his music. His love for sketching in the park, capturing fleeting moments and unique faces, further showcases his deep connection with the world around him and his desire to express it through his art.
